The code will be licensed under GPL 2.1 (with the libraries licensed under LGPL 2.1).

Might I ask why GPL 2? 3 is released and their is very little difference between the two licenses except protection against DRM. Just curious. - Graham
Well, I haven't yet managed to understand fully the differences between 2 and 3. So thought I'd stick to 2 for the time being.
